Combat cam video: IDF rockets hit Gaza media center
Following a calm night in south Israel, dozens of rockets were fired on the region on Monday morning. One projectile exploded near a school in Ashkelon. The IDF continued to strike Gaza terror hubs.
The first air raid sirens sounded at approximately 6:30 am Monday in the Hof Ashkelon, Sha'ar Hanegev and the Eshkol regional councils. The Palestinian civilian death toll mounted Monday as Israeli aircraft struck densely populated areas in the Gaza Strip in a campaign to quell militant rocket fire menacing nearly half of Israel's population.
An overnight airstrike on two houses belonging to an extended clan in Gaza City killed two children and two adults, and injured 42 people, said Gaza heath official Ashraf al-Kidra.Many members of a family are thought to have died in one of the homes targeted by Israel An Israeli strike on a home in Gaza has killed at least 10 people, officials say, as Sunday became the deadliest day since Israel launched an operation against Hamas militants last week.
Israel said it had targeted a Hamas man but at least nine members of one family died, including several children.
Heavy bombardment of the strip was continuing early on Monday morning.
Gaza militants continue to fire rockets at Israel, with injuries reported in towns including Ashkelon and Ofakim.
