Geraldo Rivera: Hoodie responsible for Trayvon Martin's death

Geraldo Rivera has entered the public discussion about Trayvon Martin’s death by blaming the Florida teenager's choice of dress.

“I am urging the parents of black and Latino youngsters particularly not to let their children go out wearing hoodies. I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin‘s death as much as George Zimmerman was,” the Fox News host said Friday on “Fox and Friends.”

Martin, 17, was shot and killed Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla., by Zimmerman, a 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer. Zimmerman was not arrested because police said there was no evidence to contradict his claim that he fired in self-defense.

The teen’s death and the lack of arrest have sparked protests and inspired a “Million Hoodie March” Wednesday in New York. It attracted hundreds of protesters, many of them wearing hoodies.

"As long as [Zimmerman] is outside of the court system, the protests will intensify and spill over into other dimensions," the Rev. Jesse Jackson told The Times Friday.

"His lack of appearance in the court system is a source of embarrassment and humiliation. He needs to face the court," Jackson said.

Still, Rivera chose to focus on another aspect of Martin’s death that he believes could have changed the outcome.

“Trayvon Martin, God bless him, an innocent kid, a wonderful kid, a box of Skittles in his hands. He didn’t deserve to die. But I bet you money, if he didn’t have that hoodie on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldn’t have responded in that violent and aggressive way," Rivera said.

Perhaps reacting to Rivera’s comments, at some point someone off camera can be heard saying, “Uh

Invisible Children (KONY 2012) Co-founder Jason Russell Arrested!

Before San Diego police arrived and took Invisible Children filmmaker Jason Russell into custody for his own safety, several neighbors had tried to calm him down without success, according to the San Diego police.

"He continued to act in a bizarre and irrational manner," according to a statement released by police spokeswoman Lt. Andra Brown.

Neither Brown nor anyone else in the Police Department is confirming that the incident at noontime Thursday near a busy intersection in the Pacific Beach neighborhood involved Russell. The names of people taken into custody for psychological review are not released under department policy.

But the Invisible Children organization and neighbors confirmed that it was Russell who was filmed pounding on the pavement while naked. A native of El Cajon, where his parents run Christian Youth Theatre, the 33-year-old Russell lives in Pacific Beach.

Police were responding to "several callers [who] reported that the male removed his underwear and was nude, perhaps masturbating," according to the statement. By the time police arrived, the man was wearing his underwear.

"The callers reported the underwear-clad male was in the street, interfering with traffic, screaming, yelling incoherently and pounding his fists on the sidewalk."

Police took the man to a mental health facility for observation after determining that he was a potential danger to himself or others. Officers decided that his "bizarre and irrational behavior would most appropriately be handled by transporting him to a local medical facility for further evaluation and treatment."karma is a bitch they finally got his ass and it didnt take long tell me what you think comment and share your thoughts

March 16th 2012 (2)Duke is upset by Lehigh(15) watch the key points of the 4th quarter here and now! Duke decides to run the offense through freshman Austin Rivers, he keeps them close, but is unable make enough key plays late..Watch it here!!!!!

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- C.J. McCollum scored 30 points and Lehigh upset Duke 75-70 on Friday night in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Lehigh became the sixth No. 15 seed to beat a No. 2 and the first since Norfolk State pulled off the trick earlier in the day.
Duke dropped its first tournament game for only the second time in the past 16 years, and this one occurred just 55 miles from its campus.
The Blue Devils had no answer for McCollum, a speedy guard who's a two-time Patriot League player of the year and the nation's fifth-leading scorer.
It didn't help that the Blue Devils hit just 6 of 26 shots from 3-point range.
Lehigh (27-7) led most of the game, drawing support from North Carolina fans who borrowed brown signs from Mountain Hawks supporters that read "Go Lehigh" to root against their rivals.Poor quality but... if you want to relive it. For just the sixth time in NCAA history -- and the second time on March 16 -- a 15 seed upset a 2 seed. Lehigh over Duke.

The Bachelor' Finale Recap: The Most Controversial Season

It's been a whirlwind 10 weeks as members of 'Bachelor' Nation tried their hardest to keep it under wraps that Ben chose Courtney to be his vineyard bride. Too bad most of us missed the "After the Final Rose" because our DVRs didn't recognize that the episode was part of the same "The Bachelor" franchise (as if any of us watch this live). Along with the actual finale, a few controversial moments reared their ugly heads during the extra bonus hour of Our Host Chris Harrison asking the same variation of one question at least 12 different ways. He's truly a master.

But let's start with the actual finale. Roughly 120 minutes of Ben pretending to struggle to make a decision between the horse girl and the model was about as riveting as watching paint dry or grass grow. The season has been as boring as his monochromatic wardrobe. However, there were pockets of energy here and there tucked away in unlikely places.

Rick Santorum Wins: North Dakota Caucus Results 2012

Rick Santorum has won North Dakota’s Republican presidential caucuses, adding to his wins in Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Rival Mitt Romney has also won three state contests — Massachusetts, Virginia and Vermont. The two are battling in a close race for Ohio. A total of 10 states are voting on Super Tuesday.

Newt Gingrich won a home-field primary in Georgia, and Rep. Ron Paul looked to three caucus states for his first victory of the campaign season as Republicans choose a challenger for Democratic President Barack Obama.

Romney said, “This is a process of gathering enough delegates to become the nominee, and I think we’re on track to have that happen.”Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul remained defiant Tuesday night in the face of no primary wins, rallying his fervent supporters to his signature causes of civil liberties and an overhaul of the country’s monetary system.

Paul gave no definitive statement of how long he’d continue his campaign. But he told supporters in Fargo, N.D., that his campaign has sent a clear message to voters that government grows endlessly, ignores personal privacy and spends too much money.

Celtics 115, Knicks 111 (OT): Paul Pierce, C's Win Overtime Thriller

Ray Allen (G - BOS), Paul Pierce (F - BOS), Kevin Garnett (C - BOS), Rajon Rondo (G - BOS), Carmelo Anthony (F - NYK), Mickael Pietrus (F - BOS), Brandon Bass (F - BOS), Steve Novak (F - NYK), Jeremy Lin (G - NYK), Iman Shumpert (F - NYK), New York Knicks, Boston CelticsPaul Pierce (34 points, seven rebounds) and Rajon Rondo (18 points, 20 assists, 17 rebounds) fueled the Boston Celtics for the second straight game, leading the C's past Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks, 115-111, in overtime on Sunday afternoon.

"It's big," Pierce said afterwards. "Especially you know we've got these home games, we've got to start playing better at home, and we have a huge road trip coming up so we have to take advantage of these home games right now before we go on this two week road trip."

Rondo's triple-double was his fourth of the season and 17th of his career (11 in regular season). It was the first triple-double in the NBA with at least 17 in each category (points, assists, rebounds) since Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers did so with 24 points, 17 assists and 17 rebounds on April 18, 1989. In addition, it was the first time a player has had a triple-double with at least 18 points, at least 17 rebounds and at least 20 assists since Wilt Chamberlain had 22 points, 25 rebounds and 21 assists on February 2, 1968.

"It was a big win for us," Rondo said. "I think we were tied at the eighth seed, or seventh seed, but we tried to get a little separation tonight with a good win against a good team."

"You know he really stepped up," Pierce said about Rondo. "That's the Rondo we like to see, playing with all that energy, he got guys the ball in the open shots. He did everything for us tonight. He rebounded, he passed, he got the clutch rebound there in overtime and got the layup. That's the Rondo I like to see."

Jeremy Lin, of course, was the main attraction for a packed Garden crowd, but he struggled through the first three quarters, scoring only six points while picking up three fouls. Lin picked up his play in the fourth and finished with 14 points and five assists.

"The difference I think today, I was a little more comfortable but still not where I want to get to," said Lin. "Obviously Boston is a very good defensive team and hopefully as I play them a couple more times I'll get comfortable."

"The thing about Jeremy is that he's going to make some mistakes, he's got a learning curve" said Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni. "There's no way you can throw him in here first time he ever does it and expect it to be perfect, but he finds a way to be very positive in the end of games, hit the big three and a couple of other shots. It was good and he's going to be good. Just a matter of going through some learning experiences, but I thought overall he's good."

Liverpool vs Arsenal all goals and highlights 3/3/2012

Team News: Arsenal (4-3-2-1): Szczesny; Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs; Arteta, Song, Rosicky; Benayoun, Walcott; Van Persie. Subs: Diaby, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabianski, Jenkinson, Gervinho, Chamakh, Miquel.
Team News: Liverpool (4-4-1-1): Reina; Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Enrique; Henderson, Spearing, Adam, Downing; Kuyt; Suarez Substitutes: Doni, Bellamy, Shelvey, Coates, Flanagan, Maxi, Carroll.Liverpool have become the first team in Premier League history to draw eight of their opening 12 home league games. Tight.
12.38: Cheers for Steven Gerrard from the home crowd, who in his suit and boots, takes to the field to show off the Carling Cup.
12.35: I've seen a few Arsenal fans reflect the same opinion. But you can't drop Walcott after his performance last week.
Oxlade-Chamberlain may be a little low on confidence too after his mid-week defeat to Henderson.

12.33: 'hmm seems like arsene prefers Walcott to AOC. Doesn't sound like a good idea due to his inconsistent performances...'
Yong Hui Chee, Twitter
12.30: Big game for Jordan Henderson. He has come in for some stick regarding his performances in Liverpool shirt this season.
But he does have the psychological advantage going into this one - especially over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Here is why.

12.27: Just so we can compare the managers, here is Wenger's record from InfostradaLive:
wenger has won 340, drawn 147 and lost 101 of 588 PL matches as #arsenal manager
12.24: Sportsmail's Dominic King:
No Daniel Agger today for #LFC but he's at Anfield sporting a serious new hairdo. Think of de Niro as Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver #scalped

founder of the popular news website -- died early this morning at the age of 43.

According to his website, Breitbart -- the political journalist who broke the Anthony Weiner penis pic story -- died "unexpectedly from natural causes" shortly after midnight this morning in L.A.

Jeremy Lin - Knicks Win Vs Cav 2/29/2012

The Knicks complete the fast break with Amar'e stoudemire slamming it home with two hands
LIKE,FAVORITE and SHARE this video!Jeremy Lin had 19 points and 13 assists, Carmelo Anthony scored 22 and the New York Knicks turned around the game with their reserves to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-103 on Wednesday night.

Steve Novak had 17 points off the bench as the Knicks turned a 17-point deficit into an easy win, outscoring the Cavs 71-42 in the second half. They capped a 10-5 month, their first 10-win February since going 10-3 in 1996-97.

The Knicks didn't lead until Novak made consecutive 3-pointers to put them up 75-74 with 2:52 left in the third quarter, then dominated the fourth quarter to send the Cavs to their third straight loss.

Antawn Jamison had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers, beaten at home by Boston on Tuesday, giving them losses on consecutive nights to two of the teams within reach for a playoff spot.

Kyrie Irving had 22 points and seven assists.

The interesting point guard matchup between the No. 1 pick and the guy who wasn't picked was about even. Irving seems headed toward the Rookie of the Year award and has led the Cavaliers into playoff contention, but he and most of the rest of the NBA have been obscured by the player he said has "been on ESPN every single day."

Irving seemed to have little interest in discussing Linsanity. He said he didn't really speak to Lin when they both played in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday at the All-Star game and repeated the same basic answer when asked about his counterpart, saying Lin was a great story, great point guard, and was leading the Knicks to wins.
